1 ) A RE-RAT RAT: London can take it!
It was one of the most difficult periods of my life, like a sea beast fished up from depthes, or a diver too suddently hoisted,... my veins threaten to burst from the fall in pressure. --- The Black Dog after Dardanelles period.
As a result, two years after he left the goverment, the Conservatives offer him a consituency and a porfolio, Chancellor of the Exchequer, like his father 30 years ago. Despite his earlier betrayal, Churchill returns to the bosom of the Conservative Party. He remaks, "Anyone can rat, but it takes a certain amount of ingenuity to re-rat.“
1925 He's become an orator without equal, daring to address Parliament in ways, that make more than one MP shrink in his presence. To a menber who constantly interrupts him with "Liar!", Churchill retorts, "If the Honorable Gentleman who keeps interrupting me consents to give his name rather than his profession, I am sure we'll all be glad to make his acquaintance." One day the MP lady aster spits at him, " If I were your wife, I'd poison your coffee." to witch Churchill replies, " Madam, if I were your husband, I'd drink it."
I would say to the House as I've said to those who've joined the goverment, I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears, and sweat. We have before us an ordeal of the most grievous kind. We have before us many, many long months of struggle and of suffering. You ask, what is our policy? I will say, it is to wage war, by sea, land and air, with all our might and with all the strenth that God can give us, to wage war against a monstrous tyranny never surpassed in the dark and lamentable catalog of human crime. That is our policy. You ask, what is our aim? I can answer in one word: victory. Victory at all costs.Victory in spite of all terror. Victory, however long and hard the road may be.
We shall defend our island,what ever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets. We shall fight in the hills. We shall never surrender!
2 ) 时势造英雄
1.5小时，简要回顾丘吉尔的一生，看到了他：
不被爱的顽劣童年；
不被认可，战场上驰骋的热血青年时期；
几十年磕磕绊绊的政治仕途，以及两度出征时的热血沸腾（好战分子）。
还看到了blackdog总在他仕途失意时来袭，danger, alcohol,cigars and writing相伴他一生，这位语言大师拿过诺贝尔文学奖，绘画也相当不错。
他不完美，对数字不敏感，任财政大臣时的错误决策让英国经济陷入危机，他自嘲为“英国史上最糟糕的财政大臣”；家里孩子不成器，婚姻不见得幸福；但这些都不妨碍他成为世纪巨人的事实，是他第一个站出来对抗希特勒，感染了英国人民，说服与联合罗斯福和斯大林一起打赢战役，可就是这么一位伟大的多才多艺的人，临终前说自己此生一事无成。
他强撑着等到父亲去世时的同月同日同时辰死去，足以见得他对父亲的爱，可偏偏这位天天酗酒、仕途失败、46岁就死于梅毒的父亲却从未善待过丘吉尔，我想丘吉尔的抑郁症多少跟自小缺爱有关吧。

3 ) 丘吉尔：世纪巨人
连续看了两遍，致敬伟人！1.5小时纪录片相对客观的囊括了伟人的一生。顽劣的少年期，被学校、被父亲认定不成器，终生未得到原生家庭的爱和认可；数次亲赴战争前线作战、三次坠机、还有严重车祸等事故，政治上几次起起伏伏，丘吉尔还是度过了90岁生日，在中风昏迷中熬到和父亲同月同日同时辰去世。90年岁月，墓葬地距离出生地仅一英里，却影响了英国历史、影响了世界历史进程。二战中，希特勒在欧洲所向披靡，英国没有丘吉尔的激励和“决不投降、不惜一切代价取胜”的坚定；没有丘吉尔提前打造的军事王国：英国的空军、海军舰队、坦克、军情处、雷达等全是丘吉尔建造的；没有丘吉尔联合美国和苏联共同对抗，英国绝无可能胜利。他有着杰出的能力：在英国士气低落的时候，他的演讲让反对党也泪流满面，激励了民众奋勇反抗纳粹蹂躏的信心；他的演讲打动了美国政治阶层；他的写作获得诺贝尔文学奖；他的绘画能力也极其优秀；他的勇气让自负的斯大林都感到震撼。他将自己一生的热情、热血、泪水都奉献给了他极其热爱的英国，但他在政治上却是几经沉浮，尤其历经五年残酷的二战，终于带领英国取得胜利，没有丘吉尔就不会取得的胜利，接着在首相连任的选举中丘吉尔败北，民众怀疑战时的老首相能否在和平时代还能胜任，让他震惊和抑郁。他最大的梦想是英国的强大和世界和平，他说：我一生去的很多成就，后来我却发现我一无成就”，让人唏嘘。不管怎样，丘吉尔在英国历史乃至世界历史上的地位都不可磨灭。

B站有这部纪录片，但是明显B站的信息应该是错了……和BBC的一部搞混了。这一部对于丘吉尔的“斗牛犬”属性可谓是描绘得淋漓尽致了，他和老保守党斗和德国斗，和史达林较劲，他注定是一个斗士。当硝烟散去，自然也就被淹没在历史中了。
一面之词，做成 长剧会丰富一点，还是得看书

这不比至暗时刻实在得多？
两点感触。名门望族，从小得不到父爱；自负又有本事，顽固又有野心；对战争着迷而消沉于和平，这种人设稍稍跑偏感觉就又是一个大魔头现世。再者，反复着重讲丘吉尔在 black dog 和 bulldog 之间的转变，这要是雕琢成剧情片感觉会比《至暗时刻》还好看。
这种属于昨日的世界的人，不会再有了
热泪盈眶。1874.11.30-1965.1.24，90年人生起伏，和父亲伦道夫在同一天死去，葬于离出生地1英里的地方却名誉纵横全球。五个孩子，战中团结一致，战后儿子沉溺女色，俱乐部声名狼籍，演员女儿嗜酒如命八卦翻天，记者女儿重度抑郁自杀，只有小女儿marry家庭和谐照顾老人，另一个女儿小时候脑膜炎死亡，夫妻感情破裂，妻子短暂与画家外遇。历时五年的二战结束，当即被英国人民选举下台。爱好广泛，画画雪茄帽子比女人都多，泥瓦工写作，获得诺贝尔文学奖…伟大的人 精神指引着前进。三国会谈再次放低姿态，懂得低头与妥协。一辈子不妥协自己，贡献热血 激情 眼泪 生命。希望英国强大世界和平最终无一如愿。上帝不眷顾任何人，伟大的温斯顿丘吉尔，人生偶像。

配合至暗时刻一起看不错，这个老头真是个闲不住的人啊。准备看看他的二战回忆录了，但绝对是个大工程...

我不休息会抑郁，伟人休息会抑郁，这就是我跟伟人差距之一。丘吉尔这厉害，抽烟喝酒，活到九十;兢兢业业，死而后已。挺过坠机，挺过车祸，挺过战争，挺过大起大落的政治生涯。佩服！这记录片很中肯，不过分赞美，将伟人那有脾气有理想有远见有幽默感的一面呈现。
