1 ) 缺乏人性描述
这是一部算是有趣的电影，描写了芝加哥某个小镇的人口几十年都是只有436个人，某个人口调查员觉得很奇怪，于是就去那边观赏这个村庄，渐渐发现了一些秘密。
我看了觉得算是一部比较有趣的电影，我看过类似的电影比如《灵异村庄》，风格类似，不过那部电影意义会更深刻一些，这部反而简单明了一些，并且宗教色彩太浓了，忽略了人性这种话题。
一个奇怪的村庄，为了保持平衡，永远需要保持436个人，多一个则要有人主动自我灭亡，杀一个则自动会有人补充进来，以此循环，“我们不需要外面理解我们”，表达了他们独特的想法。破坏规则的人总是会在逃跑途中出车祸灭亡或者被人道毁灭。
如果无法接受这种生活，那么必须接受治疗，因为得了“精神热病”，多么堂皇冠冕的理由啊。方式非常类似与宗教或者党派的洗脑行为，最后让你自己觉得生活的很幸福或者抛弃你任何非法的念头。
有趣的片子，不算特别恐怖，稍微有点玄幻。
2 ) 假装悬疑片看
436的设定是一个小镇人口长期维持在436这个数字，
要点是无论是否过路，只要在镇上住了一夜，就算是镇上的人口了，
一旦人数多出来，就有人要死，由镇里公投决定人选；
如果试图离开，那么也会因为上帝或者不知什么的力量死于非命。
这设定有个硬伤是如果小镇常年没人路过，或者连续有人死掉而没人出生，
那镇上的人是不是要去外面拉两个人回来orz。
但这个问题勉强可以用片子的结尾解释：因为主角来了以后镇上为了他杀了一个人，人口回到436，
然后主角带着一个小姑娘逃跑，路上杀了来堵截他们的一个警察，也就是说一共死了三个，
结尾处出来迎接主角朋友的警察讲镇上的孕妇生了双胞胎，再加上主角朋友正好是三个人，
所以可以理解成那个不可抗力既然能够让逃出小镇的人死于非命。。
也可以让莫名其妙的人来到小镇以凑足人数。。。。
唯一最违和的地方是小镇信仰的解释，就是那个4+3+6=13，1+3=4的理论太儿科了，
简直就是像我这种材料第一遍构思出来的东西。

西方的这种惊悚片怎么总要和宗教迷信搞在一起呢？直接作为一个邪教、恶俗来拍不是更有看头，更令人反思吗。
如果中国的哪个导演以现在的街头行乞者的幕后操作集团为题材拍部片，一定很好看。

4 ) 这个丑陋而又美丽的世界
436，是小镇重建后规定的人口数，3个数字分别对应某本宗教书上的3句话。这3句话被奉为全镇的信仰，从孩子们的课堂上开始灌输。 436，是一个诅咒。小镇人口不能多也不能少。外来者进入，一律禁止再出去。而随着数额被超过，镇上会召开外来者的“庆祝会”，会前由众人抽签选定一人“牺牲”，即在庆祝会高潮绞死。这是镇上最高的荣誉。 想要逃离者，非死即被医生洗脑。前者纵使能逃出镇外，厄运也会降临，像普查员和女孩Amanda；后者改造后留在镇上，浑浑噩噩生活至终老，像Kady，医生家地下室的一家四口，或许这样的人还有很多。 ROCKWELL HALLS是个不能用常规的道德理念来思考的地方。“团结而安定”，由小镇人口中诵死咒般地念出，犹如某种奇异宗教的仪式。“我们镇上从来没有犯罪”，镇长、医生、警官却串通着一再给人洗脑。然而这一切，在镇上都无比正常。百年人口不变，森林边缘停靠的几十辆外来汽车，昭示着悲剧笼罩了几代人后，还会继续下去。 与一切形成对比的是，小镇祥和的氛围、宁静的风景、热忱的居民，配上美洲风味十足的明快音乐，呈现出世外桃源的美丽。然而，对比越强烈，恐惧便越发深入骨髓。个体的死亡并不可怕，可怕的是围观人群始终如一的若无其事。庆祝会上，抽到签的女人盛装站在绞刑架上，其他人鼓励的目光和淡然的微笑，不禁令人毛骨悚然。 外人眼中的悲剧，在小镇人看来是莫大的幸福。这才是最大的悲剧。 自以为善，自以为恶，自以为的崇高而圣洁的信仰，不过机械而近残酷的变相屠杀。思想的束缚，人性的禁锢，以一个自以为美好的理由遮掩，整个群体便逐渐学会自觉地遏止“反叛”的思想，将祖上的圣规毫无抵触的遵守、传教，温顺如羔羊，这便是“服从上天的意旨”。 但，以医生为代表的统治者并非祸首，他们自身也深深崇拜着流传下来的教义。为了维护所谓“安定与和平”，把偶尔出现的“叛逃者”的思想利用药物“纠正”过来。统治阶层，本身就是众多牺牲品的一类，可悲的是他们一边被荼毒，一边还在替“上天”的规则辩护。 道德的善与恶、是与非，在我们这些镇外人的圈子里，同样的自以为是。宗教，是为填补精神上的缺口。哲学，是人类自身的产物。而天然的法则，无论人类有无都必然存在。可经历人类的思考，便不能保证它的绝对客观。假如，哲学观、道德观都是臆想，人类社会就是一个限制思想的大圈。只是，这个圈子里的人更多，相对的自由也更多，所以时间也会存在的更长……或许，当另外一群生物发现这里时，又会引起一场无休止的是非争论。 丑陋的手段，披着美丽的外衣，麻木着人们。若不是小镇ROCKWELL HALLS，而是整个世界，有多少真相还未被挖掘？ 所幸，片中的小镇是虚构之所。而我们这里并不需要，因为，这样的圈子可能已经以各种不同的性质存在了。 我们所在的，是个丑陋而又美丽的世界。 2006-08-30
5 ) 数字统治宇宙
一如既往的美国恐怖片，看美国片，是把恐怖片当惊悚片看，把惊悚片当剧情片看，把剧情片当色情片看，把色情片当恐怖片看……
号称什么内心恐怖悬疑力作，在我看来和之前妮克的《小岛惊魂》几乎没什么区别，剧情不错但是说到恐怖震慑就有点言过其实了，主要意思是地球上有这么一个地方，那里的人口必须永远保持在436，进去的人就会出不来，人多了就通过仪式把多余的吊死，谁要是想出去就会被医生之类的洗脑，变得再也不想出去，非要出去的就将会死于非命，其实也就是死在一个噩梦一样的情境里。但是仔细推敲，硬伤太多……
1 人多了可以杀，人少了怎么办，去外面拐么？没交代……总不能老是靠生的那么凑巧吧
2 既然是保持人口436就好，那为什么非杀自己人，直接团结起来把外人干死不就结了，还搞什么仪式，浪费啊
3 那些不过夜的人绝对不会卷入就因为他们不过夜……应该展开至少黑夜和噩梦的关系
不过其实片子还是有值得深挖的地方

而rockwell falls这个小镇的名字也恰好有13个字母。
在电影中的那本命理学历史中，关于圣经的命理学中，4代表团结与坚定。3代表神圣的结合，6代表平衡与和平。
小镇的人口只有维持在这个数字上方能太平。任何企图破坏这种平衡的人都要被神圣的意志处决——抽签牺牲掉或者逃出去被天谴。
任何无意中闯入的人，都被小镇的居民看做命中注定要加入他们的人。对任何企图离开的人，都被视为是患有精神热病的患者，过于反抗者，将会被施以手术，以净化其灵魂。
小镇地处偏远，人们过着一种近乎于与世隔绝的生活，传统而守旧，就差没穿上18世纪的衣服了。他们有警官，有镇长，但是他们更愿意遵循自己的法律。所有人都团结而偏执地固守他们的信条，电影在他们处死一名心甘情愿赴死的镇民时达到疯狂的巅峰。
而小镇似乎确实被某种邪恶的诅咒所困。影片一开始，一男子驾车狂奔，刚出小镇，便翻车而亡。男主角刚入小镇，看见一女子骑马在镇边界落马。而最终当所有人都以为男主角和小女孩可以逃出生天时，那个噩梦却真的实现了。
在排除诅咒与命理学外，那种”家庭“的观念也是众多温而不露的变态心理滋生的地方。电影里面某大妈和蔼地对男主角说“这里没有什么比家庭更重要”。而小镇就像一个大家庭，为了保护家庭的完整，一点牺牲完全是无关紧要的。比如在《复制娇妻》中，为了达到那种和谐的家庭，净化掉女性的意识只是一个小小的牺牲罢了。又比如在游戏《辐射3》中，有一个任务便是2家人在核爆后为了延续家庭，不惜吃掉所有的路人。电影后期，kady在医生家的地下室里发现了一家人，他们显然是被“治愈”的“健康人”，他们住在狭小的牢笼中却毫不在意，笼中按照居家布置，女主人还热情邀请kady做客，大家脸上洋溢着幸福的微笑。当“家庭”成为囚笼时，更多的人选择的是甘为囚徒。
电影中的警官是一个很有特点的人。他知道这里的一切并不正常，相对于其他镇民而言，他算得上为数不多的正常人。他有心上人，但是他的懦弱让他不敢有任何举动。即便他知道男主角和他心爱的女子关系不简单，他想杀了男主角却做不到。最后他放过了男主角，却杀了他的搭档。然后娶了已经被净化的心上人。最终和这个变态的社会妥协了。其实我们大多数人都是这位警官，在这样一个变态且浮躁的社会。
电影还有另一个版本的结局，就是男主角带小女孩成功出逃，并且避免了车祸。

在排除诅咒与命理学外，那种”家庭“的观念也是众多温而不露的变态心理滋生的地方。电影里面某大妈和蔼地对男主角说“这里没有什么比家庭更重要”。而小镇就像一个大家庭，为了保护家庭的完整，一点牺牲完全是无关紧要的。比如在《复制娇妻》中，为了达到那种和谐的家庭，净化掉女性的意识只是一个小小的牺牲罢了。又比如在游戏《辐射3》中，有一个任务便是2家人在核爆后为了延续家庭，不惜吃掉所有的路人。电影后期，kady在医生家的地下室里发现了一家人，他们显然是被“治愈”的“健康人”，他们住在狭小的牢笼中却毫不在意，笼中按照居家布置，女主人还热情邀请kady做客，大家脸上洋溢着幸福的微笑。当“家庭”成为囚笼时，更多的人选择的是甘为囚徒。
电影中的警官是一个很有特点的人。他知道这里的一切并不正常，相对于其他镇民而言，他算得上为数不多的正常人。他有心上人，但是他的懦弱让他不敢有任何举动。即便他知道男主角和他心爱的女子关系不简单，他想杀了男主角却做不到。最后他放过了男主角，却杀了他的搭档。然后娶了已经被净化的心上人。最终和这个变态的社会妥协了。其实我们大多数人都是这位警官，在这样一个变态且浮躁的社会。
